Sekumpulan pesara, termasuk bekas tentera merancang mengadakan himpunan raksasa pada April bagi membantah keputusan kerajaan mencabar keputusan Mahkamah Tinggi untuk menyemak dan menyelaraskan pencen berdasarkan gaji akhir.
00:00A group of prisoners, including former soldiers, planned to hold a mass gathering in April to oppose the government's decision to challenge the Supreme Court's decision to spend and pay pensions based on the last wage.
00:16The group's spokesman, Rafiq Ahmad Nordin, said they were planning to gather 10,000 prisoners and veterans to demand the government implement the court order.
00:28On January 16, the Supreme Court judge ruled that prisoners were entitled to receive a pension cut from the 2016 surroundings and ordered the government to pay in three months.
00:43Rafiq, who is also a marine officer, said the gathering was scheduled for April 18, while saying that there was no response to the request to meet Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
00:57He said the prisoners were disappointed with the State Prosecutor's Office filing an appeal against the court's decision, in addition to questioning that the government has no issue paying pensions for prisoners who are alleged to be between RM200,000 and RM400,000.
01:16Rafiq said the decision to amend the court order was a form of discrimination against low-income prisoners who contribute greatly to the development of the country.
