00:13That's why we're able to have her live with us in the studio.

00:16And she's returning to PTV, Charissa Esparrago.

00:29Welcome back. How are you feeling?

00:31Are you feeling better now that your title has been crowned?

00:35Yes. I'm very happy because my dream has come true

00:40to have a title, a national title.

00:43And then...

00:45How was it being a reporter back then?

00:47And now, you've turned into a beauty queen and a supermodel.

00:50Actually, they're not far from the skill set.

00:54Because you need to have a stage presence,

00:57good at public speaking.

00:59I guess the biggest difference is that I'm even more sick now.

01:05It's hard to stand up when you're in heels.

01:08You're already tall and you're wearing heels.

01:10There's no beauty queen like that.

01:12Well, I saw your pattern, just like Diane,

01:16They were beauty queens before they transitioned to TV hosting.

01:20But you, you were a reporter before

01:23and then you went to the beauty pageant.

01:26So, how was the preparation for this?

01:29Actually, it's more focused on the ramp now.

01:31More runway.

01:33Because in the news, what we do is

01:35we really deliver a story through our mouths.

01:39And here, you need to deliver a story

01:41just by how you stand, how you look.

01:44So, my focus was runway training.

01:47Because this is one of the few competitions that doesn't have a Q&A.

01:55But here, you really showed your forte in the ramp.

02:19My best friend, Ash, also texted me.

02:23So, I'm so happy.

02:25So many supporters from every single work experience that I've had.

02:31I got so many texts that night.

02:33It was a bit overwhelming.

02:35For sure.

02:36Again, congratulations.

02:37But for now, do you have any future plans?

02:40What is your next step

02:42after winning Miss Supermodel Worldwide Philippines?

02:47What I'm focusing on right now is the international pageant.

02:52It will be held in the Philippines for the first time this April.

02:56So, all the training,

02:59straight to diet again, gym again, no break.

03:03Because I want to leave a really good first impression.

03:06The organization is in India.

03:09So, when they step into the Philippines,

03:12they will be enthralled by our people,

03:15by our culture,

03:16obviously, our food.

03:18Yes, yes, yes.

03:19I hope for it.

03:20So, I understand that you won the Philippines last year.

03:23So, we're aiming for a back-to-back win this year.

03:28But you know, Cha is a congress graduate of UP Diliman

03:45what do you think is the best way to really combat disinformation and misinformation?

03:49Oh, well, you're looking at it right now.

03:52It's to be caught up on the news.

03:54And it's just to make sure that you are tuned in to our news outlets

03:58because everybody that is sitting in front of you right now,

04:01they are trained to make sure that they deliver accurate information.

04:04And aside from that, read up on all of the current events yourself

04:09because the most important thing is that you form an opinion

04:12because when you know what's happening around the world,

04:15you are protected from misinformation.

04:18Or you're protected from misinformation.

04:22And also, you're going to be able to be a champion for accurate information yourself.

04:36But you also have an advocacy for this supermodel.

04:40Yes.

04:41So, my personal advocacy is five years ongoing.

04:45It's my Baby Steps program where I work with kids

04:48to provide them with extracurricular activities as a teacher.

04:51But my advocacy, I have a special one for Miss Supermodel Worldwide Philippines.

04:56And that is my designer showcase where I'm working with up-and-coming designers

05:01to give them free photo shoots and free access to media

05:05because as an artist, we know that the biggest hurdle is exposure.

05:09How do you get in front of that camera first?

05:11I want to get rid of that hurdle.

05:13So, their focus is to deliver Filipino artistry.

05:21Why not?

05:23Actually, I have a shift to attend.

05:25She even has a graveyard.

05:29Yes.
