So we are happy, we are very very happy that I am amongst kindred spirits when I
00:07
come here and from those kindred spirits those this this overwhelming it's
00:13
inspiring expression of support from all the provinces in the Visayas at all
00:20
levels in those provinces. Thank you very much for that and it is something that I
00:26
will carry in my heart to my dying day and it is fine it's fine that we do it
00:32
all here today in Cebu solidified by our collective role as partners in service
00:37
to the Filipino people. So I appreciate your expressions of appreciation and
00:43
your trust your confidence and support to this administration. Public service
00:48
becomes fulfilling when we join we are joined by like-minded public servants
00:53
each of us committed to the noble goal of building a more reliable a more
00:58
efficient a more compassionate government. The administration's
01:02
development plans are ambitious but I'm confident that with your leadership
01:06
coupled with our strong collaboration we will transform these plans into reality.
01:12
It cannot be discounted that disagreements and contradicting views
01:16
are inevitable but let's be reminded that our shared commitment is to the
01:21
greater good and that must be our unifying force. Ladies and gentlemen our
01:27
people cannot afford to wait for the benefits of economic growth to trickle
01:31
down and to translate into improved services modern infrastructure and
01:37
better livelihood. We must take the initiative so that that distribution of
01:44
wealth is is has a mechanism because without such a mechanism there is no
01:51
such thing as trickle down and the economists amongst us have I've seen
01:56
this in the past where the theory was that if some if big corporations are
02:04
wealthy that wealth will trickle down. Well it will only do so with the
02:10
initiatives that are brought in by our local government officials and our
02:16
public servants. It does not happen by itself it happens because you all make
02:21
it happen. We must not waste precious time to deliver the reforms that people
02:26
need. Let's not be distracted by issues that will only deter our work and affect
02:31
the people who are counting on us. Our effectivity as elected public officials
02:36
is defined by how we remain true to our mandate to serve to lead and empower our
02:44
fellow Filipinos. Let us remember that the true essence of our democracy
02:48
unfolds not just in the casting of the ballot but in the everyday actions and
02:53
decisions that we make as lawmakers and policy implementers in the service of
02:58
the public.
03:14
We cannot stress this enough but let us always let us always serve with
03:31
integrity with responsibility and passion in our hearts. I know that if we
03:36
are guided by the highest ideals of good governance we can never go astray.
