Sainsbury’s is cutting 3,000 jobs, with supermarkets turning to robots for stacking. Do you like the new self service checkouts and how do you feel about AI replacing workers, and what could it mean for the future of work?

00:07Service checkers are annoying because I think you have to call someone over anyway so don't

00:11really see the point unless you're getting like one item and the AI thing is sort of

00:18intimidating but I feel like it's inevitable but we just have to work with it. I think

00:22we try and work in harmony with it.

00:24I think it's terrible because low skilled jobs are just going to get more and more cut

00:31out which is obviously terrible for people.

00:35Pretty terrified if I'm being honest especially being a third year uni student trying to come

00:39out into the world of work seeing how AI is taking over the industry is a little bit scary.

00:44I like the new robot system in Sainsbury's I think it's quite efficient but I think for

00:48the older generation having that face to face contact is quite nice.

00:51Yeah not great, not great. I wouldn't enjoy it. So yeah it's not ideal.
