00:00The Iligan City LGU continues to study the education of children in the streets.

00:05The details in the national news of Shariff Tim Harr of Radio Pilipinas, Iligan.

00:12The government of Iligan continues to strengthen the programs and services for street dwellers.

00:20Aside from providing regular supplemental feeding,

00:23the government of Kalaman and Kalinisa also focuses on the city's social welfare and development.

00:31Through the Alternative Learning System or ALS,

00:34they are taught the importance of education.

00:38Our purpose is to convince them that education is important.

00:45We are just trying to convince them to give them the right direction.

00:52In fact, they were given financial assistance to continue their studies

00:58because that is the reason why they are in the streets.

01:02According to the latest data of the CSWB,

01:05112 children were reported to be in the youth center.

01:10Meanwhile, one of the strict measures being implemented in the city

01:14is the Anti-Mendicancy Law 1978

01:16or the prohibition of molestation or the giving of limosa,

01:20including those who are already involved in prostitution.

01:22Our job is to monitor so that the number of prostitutes who beg in the streets will decrease.

01:30Not just prostitutes.

01:32There are 110 prostitutes who are currently under formal schooling and ALS.

01:39The LGU will continue their services according to the advice of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

01:45so that the well-being of the residents of Iligan City in the new Philippines will be improved.
