00:00President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also issued a bill to institutionalize and expand the Philippine National Games.

00:09In a message sent by the Office of the President to the Congress,

00:13President Marcos Jr. mentioned the Republic Act 10588 or the Philippine National Games Act of 2013,

00:19which is widely supported by physical education, sports programs, and games in the country,

00:26as well as their practices for international competitions.

00:30The President also insisted that the provision of the bill for the formation of the PNG Board

00:36as a policymaking and coordinating body for the preparation and expansion of the PNG

00:41is just like Section 8 of the Republic Act 10588,

00:46which is based on the Philippine National Games Board as a lead policymaking

00:51and coordinating body for the preparation of the Philippine National Games.

00:55The President also added that the proposed Php 1 million fund for the PNG

01:00is not part of the legislative function of the budget authorization process requiring an approved fund.
