00:30Our American neighbours, the rhetoric in news media and from political leaders has recently
00:43crossed a line, a line that I think many Canadians have recognized as wholly inappropriate and
00:49disrespectful. And when threats of annexation and threats of crippling tariffs have been
00:57uttered in the media or on social media, it felt incumbent upon us to take an action,
01:03some sort of small act of patriotism to respond to big bluster.
01:13We're thinking in terms of 25% on Mexico and Canada because they're allowing vast numbers
01:20of people, Canada is a very bad abuser also, vast numbers of people to come in and fentanyl
01:25to come in. President Trump said that he wants to usher
01:29in a golden age for the United States that will require more steel and aluminum, more
01:36critical minerals, more reliable and affordable energy, more of everything to run the U.S.
01:43economy full steam ahead. Canada has all those resources.
01:56Premier Ford said something along the lines of, well you know, he may think that he could
02:01go and buy things, but we're not for sale, Jesse, responding to Jesse Waters. And that
02:08line sort of set us on to a path where we thought, you know, maybe there's something
02:14in the zeitgeist that would resonate with other people.
02:18Well, first of all, I'll talk about the hat that I'm wearing. Emma and Liam, I'm sorry?

02:32That was part of starting this project. We felt like, you know, the Prime Minister had
02:38just announced an intention to resign and the federal politicians felt like they were
02:43kind of scrambling and yet we had this threat from the United States talking about us being
02:49the 51st state. And so it kind of felt like we just as everyday Canadians have to stand
02:57up and say something. And so the fact that that's resonated with people and that other
03:01people want to join in on that has been incredible.
03:19I agree that Canada is not for sale. I love Canada and I think we look sometimes with
03:33a bit of horror at what's going on south of the border. So I definitely like to keep Canada
03:40the way that it is.
03:41Well, it's definitely not for sale. I don't have a lot of positive things to say about
03:53Trump. I don't think he's a very kind human. I think he enjoys getting a rise out of people
04:01and that we shouldn't give it to him.
04:04I just feel as if the whole political situation in the United States is a bit more hectic
04:17and complicated. Hopefully they sort each other out.
04:22Canada is not for sale. I think we're special as our own country and that the United States
04:40is big enough.
04:41I think this really resonates with people on both sides of the political spectrum because
04:52it is so straightforward. It's just protecting our national sovereignty and saying we're
04:57not for sale. At a baseline, Canadians can agree on that. So I think that that has made
05:04it resonate with people all across the country.
05:07We do not have division in our country. I understand that all around the country, everyone
05:12has their concerns. Let President Trump divide us. He'll be.
05:18Canada is a sovereign nation. We won't be bought. We won't be sold. We won't be backed
05:23into a corner. We're not afraid. When the chips are down, Canadians come together. And
05:30that's what we've done since Confederation. And that's what we will continue to do regardless
05:36of any bully, at any pulpit, at anywhere, at any time, no matter who they are.
