Firefighters fought to maintain the upper hand on a huge and rapidly moving wildfire that swept through rugged mountains north of Los Angeles and resulted in more than 50,000 people being put under evacuation orders or warnings.

00:00We have over 4,000 firefighting personnel assigned to the incident, and we had a very

00:09robust ground and air response to the incident that you see behind me.

00:15And right now the numbers that I have is that we have approximately 31,000 people who are

00:22affected by our evacuation orders, another 23,000 that are impacted by evacuation warnings.

00:31The one facility, PD South, would be evacuated.

00:35That had approximately 476 inmates.

00:39We moved those inmates to another facility on the campus.
