00:00The members of the MILF and the members of the Philippine Army

00:04are on their way to Basilan.

00:07Two soldiers are on their way to the so-called Pananambang.

00:11This is Gav Villegas, Centro ng Balita.

00:18The military truck of the 32nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army

00:22encountered the Moro Islamic Liberation Front on their way to Basilan.

00:27The soldiers escorted the delegation of the United Nations Development Program.

00:32The UNDP went to the place for the community development projects for the residents.

00:37But the military was suddenly ambushed by the MILF

00:41after the UN delegates visited.

00:44In defense of the MILF,

00:45the Philippine Army entered their controlled territory without coordination.

00:50Two were shot while seven were injured.

00:54The provincial government of Basilan condemned the bloody encounter in Upper Cabengbeng.

00:59According to Governor Jim Saliman,

01:01the people behind the ambush were misguided.

01:04The group just wanted peace in the area to be discreet.

01:08The governor also called on the MILF and the soldiers to resolve the mess

01:13so that the incident would not happen again.
