Ben Shelton calls out disrespectful Australian Open interviews

American tennis player Ben Shelton said he was shocked by how players have been treated by the broadcasters.

00:05this week with how players have been treated by the broadcasters and I don't

00:11think that the guy who who mocked Novak, I don't think that was just a single

00:18event. I've noticed it with different people not just myself. I noticed it with

00:24Lerner Tien in one of his matches. I think when he beat Medvedev his post

00:29match interview I thought it was kind of embarrassing and disrespectful that

00:32interview. There's some comments that have been made to me in post-match

00:38interviews by a couple different guys whether it was hey Monfils is old enough

00:44to be your dad maybe he is your dad or today on the court hey Ben how does it

00:49feel that no matter who you play in your next match no one's gonna be cheering

00:52for you. I mean maybe true but I just don't think a comment that's

00:57respectful from a guy I've never met before in my life and I feel like

01:02broadcasters should be helping us grow our sport and help these athletes who

01:07just won matches on the biggest stage enjoy one of their biggest moments and I

01:12feel like there's just been a lot of negativity and I think that's something

01:15that needs to change.
