00:00Update on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President on the go.

00:23First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Speaker Martin R. Mualtas

00:30led the ceremonial turnover of the Yolanda Permanent Housing Program Project in Leyte.

00:35It is part of the event that was held in Barawin, Leyte,

00:39the turnover of symbolic keys to the officials of the local government

00:43from eight municipalities in Leyte, Samar, and Biliran where the housing projects are located.

00:51These projects are part of the initiative of the National Housing Authority

00:56to provide permanent housing to Yolanda survivors.

01:003517 housing units will be turned over to the families in the area of Baguio, Yolanda,

01:07particularly to the families who live in unsafe or no-build zones.

01:12As of now, 1,963 have been awarded and occupied.

01:17Each unit has a floor area of 22 to 28.6 square meters,

01:24which is equivalent to 14 square meters.

01:27Along with the ceremonial turnover, there was a memorandum of agreement

01:33and deed of donation and acceptance to formally transfer the housing units to the beneficiaries.

01:40The mayors also thanked the eight local governments for the housing for their constituents.

01:48House Speaker Romualdez also emphasized the importance of collaboration

01:52between the national government and local stakeholders

01:56in addressing the housing and housing issues that can arise from calamity.

02:07of ensuring that Yolanda survivors will be able to recover.

02:11Speaker Romualdez also promised to continue assisting the Congress

02:16to strengthen the disaster preparedness and recovery programs of the government.

02:21According to the NHDA, 175,728 units were completed

02:26with a target of 189,800 units until December 2024,

02:31including 3,517 units that are part of the ceremonial turnover.

02:36The remaining 14,072 units are expected to be completed by December this year.

02:42Of the 67%, or 133,725 completed housing units that have been awarded

02:49or occupied by the beneficiaries.
