1000 steers head to Queensland as JBS picks up huge run at Yea weaner sale

3500 Angus and Hereford steers were sold in the sale which took less than an hour.

00:00This year we've conducted two sails. We had a heavy sail on a Wednesday and a steer sail today.

00:05We had a successful day on Wednesday with the females and once again a successful sail on the day with the steers.

00:10Just under 3,500 cattle have been yarded.

00:13As you can hear there's still a few in the yards at the moment but we had a tremendous sail.

00:17The heavy steers made well over $4 a kilo.

00:20A lot of our 350 to 400 kilo steers were 420 to 430.

00:25Once we got down to 300 kilos and probably a little bit lighter we saw 430 to 450 which I thought was a tremendous sail.

00:33We did see a good competition on the calibre steers here today.

00:36Not many here today but you could make a good competition on those and they were making $4 in the summer.

00:42We finished the sail in just under an hour here today.

00:44A lot of cattle went north of the water.

00:46The New South Fails are some further to Queensland.

00:49With one major volume I acquired over 1,000 young steers to go to Queensland.

00:54All in all I'm very happy with today's results.
