Interstate buyers step up for Angus steers at Casterton

Elders Casterton livestock manager Sam Tooley provides an update on the sale.

00:00Our heavier end steers were anywhere between $3.80 up to $4.20, EU played a little bit of a part in it, a little bit of a premium there.

00:09Your middle run of your $3.20 up to $3.60 kilos, they were pretty solid as well.

00:16Probably the value of the yarding, probably at that $4 up to $4.20 or $4.30 on the odd pen.

00:23But the real standout was probably them lighter calves, that sub $300 kilos where they range anywhere between $4.20 up to $4.50 today.

00:34That was a great result for them. Back end calves that are going to head mostly north.
