00:05recovery efforts for the deadly wildfires that have hit his hometown of Los Angeles.

00:11The actor took his Instagram story on January 15 and announced that he commits to donate

00:16$1 million through his environmental organization, ReWild, to assist to both immediate and long-term

00:22wildfire relief.

00:23The Los Angeles wildfires are devastating our city, DiCaprio wrote, highlighting the

00:28need for urgent help in the wake of the crisis.

00:33In his social media posts, Leonardo detailed how the donation will support several key

00:38organizations including the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation,

00:45and World Central Kitchen, among others.
