00:04but India is the Ministry and it has to be done at that level.
00:07Again, in these areas there are concerns that have been expressed by the local people
00:15and it's very difficult in our state where our land tenure systems are the way they are
00:25and hence we cannot simply just bulldoze and we need to take the people into confidence.
00:31To be very frank, the Government's approach, our Government's approach
00:34has always been to take people into confidence while we try to move forward.
00:39Yes, there are times when some communication gap may take place
00:42but in majority of the cases we have always taken the people into confidence.
00:46In this case also we would like to take them into confidence, convince them that it is necessary,
00:51work with them, work with MHA which we are doing on a continuous basis
00:55but we are not finding a breakthrough as of now.
00:57So, it is a matter of concern, we are pushing as much as possible.
01:02I hope that we will be able to find a way forward.
01:04What is the total length of the unfenced border in Meghalaya?
01:08I don't have the exact kilometres right now with me
01:12but it must be approximately out of the 443-44 kilometres,
01:18roughly about 50-60 kilometres will be the distance.
01:22I don't know, I stand corrected, plus minus that much but yeah, approximately that much.

01:33This chairperson of the Indian Olympic Association, Madam PT Usha,
01:43had joined us in the video conferencing today
01:49where we have requested the Indian Olympic Association
01:57to allow or to give the mandate to Meghalaya to host the next National Games.
02:08The next National Games will be two years later, that's 2027
02:14and right now it's going on in Uttarakhand
02:17and we have appealed to her and to the entire association
02:21that we host the next National Games
02:26and that is what the meeting was about.
02:29As you are aware that the necessary paperwork was done in 2018
02:34but since then many things have happened.
02:38There was COVID, other games did not happen in other locations,
02:42so on and so forth, so the process got delayed.
02:46There are a few states who were there before us
02:50who have also applied and we have requested that
02:55if we can be given a preference over the other states who have applied
03:04because of the fact that we are ready and would like to have it in 2027.
03:10So, Madam has listened to our request,
03:17she expressed certain concerns and issues that were there,
03:20not from Meghalaya's point of view but from their point of view
03:23that procedures have to be followed
03:25and she has suggested me to obviously approach the Government of India also
03:29in the entire process and so that is the discussion.
03:33I don't think I can go beyond that right now
03:35but that is the crux of the purpose of the video conferencing
03:42that we had with Madam PT Osha today.
