00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed the 100 million POND of the Tourism Department

00:06especially that he doesn't want to ruin the momentum of improving the image of the Philippines to other countries.

00:17President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the Department of Budget and Management

00:22to return the 400 million Pesos of the Tourism Department's branding budget.

00:27That is the President's directive in his help to Malacanang

00:30together with the DOT and Economic Managers of the government.

00:33According to the President,

00:35it is only right to continue strengthening the image of the country

00:39especially in the international stage

00:41following the creation of the history of some Filipino artists and athletes.

00:45This is just a way, according to the President,

00:47for the Filipinos to recognize the contribution for the good of the country.

00:52The DOT agreed to this

00:54because it is a big help in promoting the country's so-called POND.

00:58The campaign projects of the DOT will be affected

01:01which may result in smaller engagements,

01:04less trade and consumer activation opportunities,

01:07and the loss of global media placements if the POND is not sufficient.

01:11The target is to get the so-called POND from the Contingency Fund of the Office of the President.

01:16The DOT ordered the President

01:18to reach the 760 billion POND of the International Visitor Receipt in the country

01:23from January 1 to December 31, 2024

01:27where it is estimated that tourists will stay longer

01:30than 11 nights compared to only 7 nights in 2019.

01:35President Marcos Jr. assured the strong support

01:38for the construction of the Virology and Vaccine Institute of the Philippines of VIP Building

01:42in his meeting with the DOT.

01:45He noted this as a preparation for the possible correctness of the new global pandemic.

01:49The DOT also noted that the DPWH's 2025 National Expenditure Program

01:54does not have a POND for the VIP.

01:57But the Chief Executive assured

01:59that the government is looking for a way

02:01to secure the POND for the project.

02:04It is estimated that the VIP's plan is worth Php 680 million

02:09including the development of vaccines for humans, animals and plants.

02:14In his meeting with the DSWD,

02:17the President wanted the agency's programs to be removed

02:20from the Unprogrammed Appropriations next year.

02:23He said this is to ensure

02:25that Filipinos will be able to benefit from the government welfare programs.

02:30While the President pointed out to the DICT

02:32the prioritization of the Common Tower Program or CTP of the agency

02:37because more Filipinos will be able to benefit from it.

02:40The DICT said that there are 404,600 direct beneficiaries

02:45and it is estimated that 2,023,000 indirect beneficiaries

02:49will be able to benefit from the CTP.
