00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. first distributed the cash gift to senior citizens today.

00:07The President confirmed his support for their other needs.

00:11The details are in the national news of Kenneth Paciente of PTV Manila.

00:17No senior citizen will be left behind.

00:20That's what President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave as well as the distribution of the cash gift for the elderly.

00:27The President himself awarded cash grants to the beneficiaries of Republic Act No. 11982 or the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024

00:37in which 14 beneficiaries were given cash gifts, including 3 80-year-olds and 3 85-year-olds.

00:445 90-year-olds received P10,000.

00:48While the 3 100-year-olds received P100,000.

00:53According to the President, this is just a way for the government to recognize the contribution of the elderly

00:59who became the guides and mentors of many on how to live.

01:03They are our supporters, they are the ones who brought us into and to understand how to deal with the world

01:13and how to deal with life and for that we will all be eternally grateful.

01:19That's why every line on your skin and every white hair is a part of the branch that holds our history.

01:30Fellow countrymen, we are here now to give glory to our elders.

01:37The President also gave the privileges that senior citizens can receive,

01:42including discounts on the distribution of water and electricity, as well as medicines and other necessities.

01:48Now, he is determined to do more for senior citizens,

01:53which is what the government wants, including social pension, residential care facilities of the DSWD

02:01and other programs and projects of the National Commission of Senior Citizens.

02:05In the new Philippines, we want our elders to live with dignity and dignity.

02:12They deserve nothing less than our love, our care, our protection, our respect, and our honor.

02:20That's why we are doing our best to improve the condition of our senior citizens.

02:28The Chief Executive also asked the families of senior citizens to be kind.

02:34To the families of our elders, please give them every moment that they are with you.

02:42Show them compassion, because the time will come when you will also find respect and kindness from your children.

02:52For our youth, you are the ones who will contribute to the continued knowledge taught by our ancestors.

03:04Use this to build a brighter future.

03:12Some senior citizens were pleased to learn about this from the government.

03:17I can now buy my medicines and food.

03:23I will just distribute it to me and to my grandchildren who are still young.

03:29Most welcome, because it's the first time I'm experiencing this.

03:34And for my age, it's a great help.

03:40Oh well, so many things to spend for.

03:45You know now everything is going up.

03:59It's worth Php 12,050,000.

04:03But the target of this year's program is to reach more than Php 275,000 beneficiaries,

04:09of which Php 2.9 billion is estimated to be distributed.
