01:002013 was the year of the UDF Government.
01:06In March 2013, the Additional Principal Forest Conservator,
01:13the Forest Management Bill, was passed.
01:19That was the starting point.
01:23In order to enter the forest,
01:28those who travel through the forest,
01:31should park their vehicles in the forest,
01:34and enter the forest.
01:37This is all blamed by the Forest Conservator.
01:42These were the initial steps.
01:48Now, many expectations have been raised
01:52regarding the suggestions made by the Forest Conservator.
01:57It should be made clear that the Government
02:02does not intend to move forward without satisfying such expectations.
02:11It is the Government's duty to show respect
02:16to the expectations of the Government
02:20that the right to be independent in any field
02:25can be violated.
02:28The people, especially those who live in the Malayoram area,
02:35do not abide by any law against their right to be independent.
02:44The Government's existence is for the benefit of the people.
02:54It will benefit the well-being of the people.
03:02Therefore, there is no objection to the extensive conservation
03:07of nature and the proper maintenance
03:12of the forest.
03:17This is the Government's stance regarding the Forest Conservator Bill.
03:25One thing to note here is that the total area of Kerala
03:30is 38,863 sq. km.
03:35Out of that, 11,390 sq. km is forest land.
03:411,525 sq. km is forests.
03:52The total area of Kerala is 860 sq. km.
04:00In Tamil Nadu, it is 555 sq. km.
04:05In Karnataka, it is 319 sq. km.
04:09The total area of our state
04:15The Government believes that the Government should take into account
04:20such geographical features and lifestyle
04:24as well as forest laws.
04:28The Left has always promoted this stance.
04:34The people should be protected from the attack of wild animals.
04:41At the same time,
04:45forest and forest products should not be exploited illegally.
04:51Water should not be added to the conservation activities.
04:57This is the Government's stance.
