00:18I'll show you what a single face looks like at this time of the morning.

00:20I'm bleary-eyed, excited.

00:23On the way to Innsbruck for the Ski City Tour 2024.

00:26Looking forward to it. So let's see what it's got to offer.

00:30Beautiful morning here in Kutai.

00:52As you can see, the ski is coming down behind me.

00:54The conditions are a little bit icy, but other than that, it's absolutely beautiful.

00:57The sun's out, so I've found absolutely stunning views.

01:01It's been a little while since I've been skiing, so it's a bit ropey to start with,

01:05but I'm getting there. I'm starting to get the hang of it again.

01:07But yeah, absolutely perfect conditions and stunning views.

01:10Nowhere I'd rather be right now.

01:28Second day of skiing here in Aix-en-Valence, now.

01:32Instead of Kutai yesterday, this is where the Olympics were held.

01:35So we went down where the females are.

01:37Females are on today.

01:38They did it under two minutes.

01:40I think we did it in about 25-30 minutes, so a bit of a difference.

01:43But no, another beautiful day.

01:45A little bit overcast on the side of the mountain,

01:48so conditions, a little bit of visibility is not great,

01:51but still got down it fine.

01:53There's lots of snow here.

01:54Not as icy as it was yesterday,

01:56so it's been beautiful again.

01:58Some of the slopes are quite challenging.

02:00We went down a blue, probably closer to a red,

02:03but still it was a really nice run.

02:05Yeah, looking forward to some more skiing.

02:20What can I say about Innsbruck?

02:22First things first, it's beautiful.

02:24You fly straight into the city, really.

02:26The airport is pretty much in the city centre,

02:28and it's worth a five-minute car ride to get into the old town.

02:31But yeah, first thing you notice is obviously the mountains,

02:34surrounded by mountains, which are just absolutely breathtaking.

02:37And then you come into the old town, and it's got these painted houses.

02:41And it's like a throwback in time, really.

02:44These, for want of a better word, magical,

02:47which I'm probably going to be using quite a lot in this review of it.

02:51But it's, yeah, there's so much to see.

02:54Obviously you've got the ski slopes all around, 12 of them.

02:58And then in the middle of that, it's a European city

03:01with lots of history and tradition.

03:04That's, you know, there's something to see here.

03:07If you're not a big skier, then it's good to have that balance.

03:10You can go skiing in the morning and sightseeing in the afternoon.

03:13And, you know, I used the Ski Plus City Pass,

03:17which enabled you to do both.

03:19You've got access to the slopes and access to a lot of the sights in the area as well.

03:23So really good for balance.

03:25If you've got a family and you want to go on a skiing holiday,

03:27but not everyone's that into the skiing, this is the perfect location for it.

03:31Because, you know, there's just so much for people to do beyond skiing.

03:34You could come here for a weekend and not go skiing,

03:36and still have more things you want to see.

03:39It is a perfect winter city break.

03:42And obviously we've come here, well, since December now.

03:45It's got the Christmas market, which is picturesque to say the least.

03:50You know, it gives you, you realise what actually people are trying to achieve

03:54with the Christmas markets back at home,

03:57but are failing miserably at compared to here.

04:00You can probably see the clock tower behind me,

04:03as well as the fairytale alley, which has got lots of different fairytale characters.

04:07But it's like that all over the city.

04:09You kind of find yourself lost in a little alleyway,

04:11and there's some more unique decorations.

04:13It definitely does Christmas well.

04:15It certainly knows how to do it.

04:17Yeah, it's just stunning, it really is.

04:20There is something to see, always something to get lost into.

04:24Obviously it's a modern European city,

04:26so it's got all the things you'd expect from that city,

04:30you know, all the amenities.

04:32But here in the old town, it's full of character, full of beauty.

04:36There's so much to see.

04:38And, you know, in terms of the actual city,

04:41I haven't really touched the sides,

04:42but there's still much more to see,

04:44and much more that the ski plus city pass gives you.

04:46So it's great for a long weekend,

04:49but you can spend longer here too,

04:51or just wait to come back.

04:53So I'm certainly going to try and come back.
