00:00The Commission on Elections stopped the printing of ballots for the 2025 National Elections that started on January 6.
00:08According to COMELEC Chairman George Erwin Garcia, this is in accordance with the Supreme Court's decision to issue a temporary restraining order
00:16for disqualifying some candidates, including former Representative Edgar Erice, who is running for the 2nd District of Caloocan.
00:24Erice appealed to the Supreme Court for COMELEC's favor in filing a disqualification case against him.
00:30Erice denied that he did not violate the provision of the Omnibus Election Code.
00:35According to COMELEC, changes to the Candidates Database Election Management System or EMS, Automated Counting Machine, and Consolidated Canvassing System must be implemented.
00:46The 1,667 ballot face templates and serialization will also be changed and the number of candidates will be changed.
00:55Printing of affected ballots will be repeated.
00:59And since the EMS and database will be changed, it will also be studied if the Trusted Build will be repeated.
01:06Trusted Build is the conversion of source code made by programmers to machine-readable codes.
