According to multiple sources, Mike McCarthy is OUT as the Cowboys' head coach. K&C react to the news and discuss why it's surprising he's leaving town.

01:14sure Pellicero's been in one of those that kind of got in with McCarthy very well because

01:19McCarthy's done a good job of opening up to those NFL network people and some of the national

01:23people.

01:24So he's one of those that probably has a really good conversation with him and his agent.

01:28Does this sound like then that, and correct me if you think I'm off, does this sound like

01:33Mike McCarthy stood his ground against the Cowboys and they were like, that doesn't work

01:39for us.

01:40And he goes, well, you know what, brother, that doesn't work for me.

01:42And he walked out.

01:43I'm assuming, but like, because everything we talked about, think about, let's just go

01:47back an hour.

01:48McCarthy wanted a longer contract.

01:50Okay.

01:53Everybody's reporting it now.

01:54An hour and 20 minutes ago.

01:56So an hour and 20 minutes ago, we're doing the crosstalk and I think I'll admit I fell

02:01into this category.

02:02I thought that Mike McCarthy would just go along with whatever deal it is.

02:07Let's just say they give him a two year deal, $10 million, some of its incentive base, whatever.

02:12And Mike McCarthy is like, no man, that's not going to work because we're going to do

02:16this exact same thing over again.

02:17I need, I need at least a three year deal or I need at least a whatever year deal.

02:22And I need at least $6 million or I need my base salary to be guaranteed or whatever.

02:26I know part of that is speculation at this point, but an hour and 20 minutes ago, I stood

02:30just a few feet to the left of where I am right now.

02:33And I thought for sure that Mike McCarthy would give in to the low ball contract offer

02:39of Dallas Cowboys.

02:41And here we are.

02:42And it sounds like he sure as hell did not.
