00:12This will be the sixth Dakar for me.

00:16Well, in these days, I question myself a lot

00:20on why I decided to come back.

00:22It's an introspective journey.

00:25You go through strange, weird, mystic adventures.

00:29It's like looking yourself in the mirror,

00:33but for real.

00:39It's the start of the unknown for us,

00:42and it will be like this every day.

00:45I think for someone that has never done Dakar,

00:48it gives you an incredible strength.

00:51This is more of a race with yourself

00:55rather than other competitors.

00:58Is it Dakar that has become tougher,

01:02or is it the fact that I'm not anymore 20 years old?

01:10I went from, you know, joy, adrenaline,

01:13fear when I crashed,

01:15and I thought I was gonna call the helicopter,

01:18where I was like, I can't give up.

01:21I have never given up in my life, you know?

01:24I need to find the strength inside myself.

01:30I barely can move my muscles, my arms.

01:34I can't even close my fingers.

01:38I was doubting.

01:40For me, it's a race against my limits

01:43and proving myself that I'm a real man.

01:49I was dead.

01:52The race is much tougher.

01:54Every stage, almost the toughest stage I've ever done in Dakar.

01:58Like, for example, we need to stand up on the bike

02:01almost the whole stage.

02:03So imagine, over 400 kilometers,

02:06standing up on the bike and almost never sitting down.

02:11One of the challenges, of the many challenges

02:14that Dakar brings is the financial side

02:17to organize everything.

02:19Basically, I am bold.

02:21Even if I don't have a lot of money,

02:24I have a lot of courage.

02:26I have a lot of confidence.

02:28I have a lot of confidence in myself.

02:30I have a lot of confidence in my team.

02:37Basically, I am bold.

02:39Even though you see me with hair now,

02:42my sponsor does hair, but not implants.

02:48Basically, it's a membrane where they put real hair

02:55The cool thing, also, about this sponsor

02:57is that if I get tired, I can change my look.

03:12The feeling you get when you finish Dakar

03:15by yourself in the original bi-motor

03:18is completely different from finishing with service.

03:22We already changed the air filter.

03:25I removed the tanks to check everything.

03:28Then I'm changing the oil filter, the engine oil.

03:33It doesn't taste as good as when you know

03:35you had to rely only on yourself.

03:38So everything, every error, every mistake,

03:41you have to blame only yourself.

03:44So this is why I'll always race Malamoto.

03:51I have no clue what day it is of the week.

03:54I have no idea about anything.

03:57I think this is one of the biggest pleasures

04:00because you basically are in a completely different world

04:06and all the rest is outside and you don't worry about it.

04:09You have no idea.

04:10The only thing you think when you go to bed

04:14is about you and the unknown.

04:17It's healing for me.
