00:00A fire engulfed a water village in Tawau on Sunday morning, destroying 80 houses.

00:06Three people suffered breathing difficulties due to smoke inhalation during the blaze at

00:15The fire and rescue department said they received a distress call at 7.46 am and dispatched

00:2144 firefighters.

00:23It said the fire spread quickly as most of the houses were made of wood.

00:27It said firefighters brought the fire under control by 9.20 am, drawing water from fire

00:33engines and nearby hydrants.

00:35Additional assistance came from the Civil Defence Force, police and Sabah Electricity.

00:41Operations are ongoing with no casualties reported.

00:44The fire victims were being treated by the medics.

00:47Authorities said they are investigating the cause of the fire.
