00:39The semi-autonomous island is a territory of Denmark and Egil has been calling for independence.

00:45Trump said earlier this week that he wouldn't rule out using force or economic pressure

00:49in order to make Greenland a part of the United States.

00:53He said it was a matter of national security.

00:56Those comments sparked anxiety in Denmark and across Europe.

01:31The announcement of her candidacy came after the gathering was delayed by more than one

01:35hour due to anti-AfD protests.

01:39Polls show AfD in second place in the upcoming election, with about 20 percent support.

01:44However, Weidel has a low chance of becoming Germany's chancellor as other parties have

01:48refused to work with the AfD.

01:52Leading the polls is the conservative CDU with its leader Friedrich Merz, who called

01:56for fundamental change to German politics at the CDU's conference in Hamburg.
