How can Newark be improved in 2025?

With the begining of a new year come wishes and resolutions, so we found out what people in Newark how the market town could be improved in 2025.

00:00I think maybe having some bigger name shops in the town it's lovely having the

00:10small independent shops but maybe having some of the bigger names in the

00:14town rather than on the retail part would be good but otherwise I think it's

00:17a great place to live and it's got a lot going on. We could improve Newark with

00:21having free car parking that would bring people back to Newark I think in my

00:25opinion. Well I'd like to see more of the local shops re-opening for people who

00:32are who run local businesses that would be good to bring some more because the

00:37markets kind of died so it might bring more spirit and atmosphere to the town.

00:45I think more disabled facilities personally it's not easy for disabled people to get

00:51around I think more things to introduce for them to get into town. I just think

00:58opening up some of the shops again getting more businesses into town you

01:03know mainly run by local people would be good. I think first of all they could do

01:08something about the litter situation in certain residential streets and I think

01:16the reform of the parking charges would probably be useful for bringing people

01:22into Newark especially as neighbouring areas do give the first hour or two free.

01:29A bit better some days it used to be much bigger and it's a bit late now but

01:36at Christmas I think we could have a proper Christmas tree that thing they

01:39put in the middle it's awful. Shops to open up again there's more shutting down

01:44rejuvenate the marketplace market square I think that's gone down dramatically

01:50since we've lived here that's in eleven and a half years now. I think more shops

01:55to open up again there needs to be a little bit more going on in the town than

01:59before.
