00:00Federal Territories Minister Dr Zaleha Mustafa has dismissed calls for the Federal Territories

00:07Pardons Board to make public its deliberations on Najib Razak's pardon application.

00:13Zaleha said the meeting minutes of the board are confidential and will not be disclosed to

00:18the public. Zaleha also said only members of FTPB have the right to access the meeting minutes.

00:26As the Federal Territories Minister, Zaleha is a member of the FTPB,

00:31chaired by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's

00:35Senior Political Secretary Shamsul Iskandar Akin urged the government to publicise the minutes

00:41of the FTPB meeting on January 29 last year, where it decided to halve Najib's jail sentence.

00:48Shamsul said this would end speculation over the full extent of the pardon granted to the

00:53former Prime Minister, and clarify the circumstances under which the house arrest

00:57addendum was issued by the 16th Agong. Najib obtained leave on Monday to begin

01:03judicial review proceedings to compel the government to place him under house arrest

01:08in accordance with Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah's decree.
