00:00Yeah, and Black Monday is quickly turning in the years into Black Tuesday, and even

00:04Black Wednesday.

00:05And in the case of the Dallas Cowboys with Mike McCarthy, it may be Black next week because

00:09nothing seems to get done down in Dallas at the right and appropriate time.

00:13So we had Tennessee fire their general managers today, even though they're keeping their head

00:17coach, which is kind of weird, right?

00:19But yeah, if you're a head coach or a GM and you're the least bit concerned, you have to

00:25wait until Tuesday, today, tomorrow, maybe even the Thursday before you realize, okay,

00:29I'm going to have my job back for next season.

00:33Five head coaching vacancies at this moment, Scott.

00:35That includes the expiring contract exactly a week from today for Dallas' head coach in

00:43Mike McCarthy.

00:44We'll talk about who is in line to interview for those jobs around the NFL.

00:50But we also do discuss, Scott, what you just mentioned, the big news of this Tuesday morning

00:54so far, because we could see a slew of moves in this week that could be a Black week instead

01:01of a Black Monday around the National Football League.

01:04We start in Nashville, where after only two seasons in Tennessee, general manager Rand

01:09Carthan has been fired, spent a lot of time in the front office of the San Francisco 49ers.

01:16When things were going good by the bay, has been in Nashville for the past two seasons.

01:21And Scott, after only two years, he has now been dismissed.

01:25It wasn't an easy ride in Tennessee, of course, for the Titans.

01:31Rand Carthan, a part of significant decisions, however, did draft Will Levis back in 2023,

01:38expecting or hoping that Levis could be the face of the franchise.

01:42That of course did not pan out.

01:44The only redeeming factor is it wasn't the second overall pick of the first round.

01:49It was the second overall pick of the second round.

01:53But in the off season, they part ways with Mike Vrabel.

01:56After 2023, Rand Carthan hires a new head coach in Brian Callahan.

02:02He lets go of a staple of the organization in Derrick Henry and brings in a decent amount

02:08of offensive talent in Calvin Ridley and Tony Pollard, who he paid some rather big deals

02:13despite letting the king walk.

02:16And then it resulted in a 3-14 season and a 2-15 mark against the spread.

02:29Tennessee Titans.

02:30So, at the end of it, Rand Carthan, now looking for a new job, fired as Tennessee's general

02:35manager.

02:36Yeah, you know, I actually like the moves they made.

02:38I mean, listen, Derrick Henry aside, right, that kind of blew up in his face.

02:42We knew that, you know, it wasn't necessarily a Derrick Henry thing.

02:46I don't know why.

02:47They just wanted to kind of change it, just clear house completely, Vrabel out, Tannehill

02:51out, everybody out.

02:52And Derrick Henry kind of got caught into that.

02:54Well, we knew he was going to be successful wherever he went.

02:57But other than that, Ben, I actually thought the moves that they made were halfway decent.

03:00I headed into this season saying to myself, you know what, they're a good quarterback

03:04away from being a really halfway decent team.

03:07And that's why I was surprised the GM got fired.

03:09Maybe it's the Will Levis draft.

03:11I wasn't happy about that.

03:12But it was second round, as you pointed out, it wasn't their first round pick.

03:16But other than that, I'm more apt to blame the head coach than I was the guy that brought

03:20some of these players in.

03:21I thought they vastly underachieved.

03:23They're not a playoff team by any stretch.

03:25But like I said, I like the moves that he made this past offseason.

03:29I think he did a halfway decent job of trying to keep that team as a competitive win now

03:33team.

03:34All right, maybe it backfires, but don't you get a second chance to now say, OK, we're

03:39not a win now team anymore.

03:40Now we're going to build through the draft.

03:41We got the number one overall pick.

03:42I mean, there's got to be more to this behind the scenes, I would think.
