00:00And I again, it's not just for your… for your aesthetic satisfaction I am saying this.
00:10I am making this as an investment pitch that tourism is the biggest employer, generator
00:18and multiplier in the world.
00:21Those who will invest in tourism in this state are actually, you know, in a sense obviously
00:29helping themselves but they are actually contributing to development and to inclusive growth in
00:36this state in a very, very powerful way.
00:40So I would today, other than the message of the double engine, want to give you the message
00:47of those three Ts – that trade with and from Odisha, technology and tourism.
00:59These are really very important dimensions of what this state has to offer.
01:07I am very glad again the point was made about the Modi government's commitment to purvadya,
01:16the renaissance, the revival, the rejuvenation of the east.
01:22India was historically at its greatest point.
01:25Even the east, eastern parts of India were at the height of their glory.
01:30And I can tell you that one of the earliest commitments in this term, the third term of
01:37the Modi government was to take the practical decisions to enable purvadya to actually happen.
01:47And a crucial, I would say almost a fulcrum of that in many ways is the state of Odisha.
01:54So let me conclude by saying this, I have been a fairly long time in the government,
02:02a little less in politics, briefly even in business.
02:08And I can tell you that when people look for, you know, investment, when people look for
02:15business, at the end of the day, what is most important for them is to get a good
02:23sense about their partners.
02:26They will evaluate ease of doing business.
02:30They will look at ease of living, you know, how non-bureaucratic a decision making is.
02:38They will look at the quality of infrastructure, what Gati Shakti has been delivering and will
02:45continue to deliver.
02:47They will assess the talent of a society.
02:52They will look for political stability.
02:55They will look for policy stability which comes from political stability.
03:00But at the end of the day, it's not just information that investors and business partners will
03:07seek.
03:08They will also look at the quality of leadership.
03:14Today you have Team Odisha's leadership in front of you.
03:18I'm confident that it inspires as much confidence in you as it does in me.
03:25And I am really very confident that today's meeting is the beginning of a conversation
03:33that many of you will come back to this state again and again, that your confidence will
03:39translate into business propositions and into investment decisions.
03:44Thank you again for your attention.
03:48Ladies and gentlemen, gratitude to Honorable Minister Sir for his insightful and thought-provoking
03:57special address today.
03:59I would also like to take this moment to introduce about a remarkable book authored by himself,
04:05Why Bharat Matters.
04:07This compelling work delves into India's strategic significance, historical resilience
04:12and aspirations for the future.
04:14I personally urge everyone here to explore it as it offers profound insights into why
04:20Bharat stands tall in global affairs and why understanding its journey is crucial for all
04:27of us.
04:28This book has eleven interconnected essays that delves into India's foreign policy,
04:33emphasizing its cultural values and global ambitions.
04:37He has highlighted various aspects, India's initiatives such as Sagar, Never Would First,
04:43showcasing India's emergence as a positive force internationally.
