00:40Austria's People Party, sharing plans to invite them to coalition talks despite a history

00:46of clashing heads.

00:47His comments come after Austrian President Alexander von der Bellen gave him the green

00:52light to attempt to form a ruling coalition after the OVP failed to do so.

01:14The conservative OVP is the only viable coalition partner for the FPO, but Kickl urged the party

01:21to be honest in talks or face the threat of a snap election.

01:50Kickl said it still needs to be seen whether the coalition would be viable or not. However,

01:55he also said he does not want to lose any time and now wants to start a political firefighting

02:07Far-right French politician Jean-Marie Le Pen has died at the age of 96. According to

02:13his family, he had been in a care facility for several weeks.

02:19One of France's most controversial figures, Le Pen formed the Front National Party, since

02:24rebranded as the National Rally by his daughter Marine.

02:30Le Pen was an extremist on race, gender and immigration. His controversial statements,

02:35including holocaust denial, led to multiple convictions.

02:40In 2002, he ran against Jacques Chirac in the presidential elections, a race he was

02:46expected to not even reach.

02:51Chirac won by a landslide. The moment, however, is seen as a turning point for the party,

02:57now one of France's main political forces.

03:08A wildfire that spread as a result of extreme winds swept through the Pacific Palisades,

03:13a Los Angeles hillside home to many celebrity residences.

03:19Local officials said roughly 30,000 residents were under evacuation orders, some of whom

03:24abandoned their cars and fled by foot due to clogged roads. While they could not give

03:29an exact number of structures damaged or destroyed, the Los Angeles fire chief said 10,000 homes

03:34were under threat by the fire.

03:39The blaze began around 10.30 in the morning after the start of the Santa Ana windstorm.

03:44The National Weather Service warned that the storm could be the strongest to hit Southern

03:47California in over a decade.

03:51Officials said the exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but that no injuries have

03:55been reported. The fire is expected to continue for a few days, including in areas that haven't

04:01seen substantial rain in months.

04:09More than 500 aftershocks with magnitudes of up to 4.4 followed a 7.1 magnitude earthquake

04:16that shook Tibet on Tuesday. Meanwhile, rescue efforts are underway, with 1,850 rescuers

04:23on the ground along with firefighters.

04:25Chinese officials reported that 400 people who were trapped under the rubble were rescued,

04:30however, the number of people still unaccounted for is unknown.

04:33Our next step is to go to each village, because this time the disaster area is relatively wide.

05:55refusing to rule out the use of military and economic force to achieve that objective.

06:01I can't assure you, you're talking about Panama and Greenland. No, I can't assure you on either

06:05of those two.

06:06He's even ramped up threats to Denmark, warning Copenhagen against not complying with Washington's

06:12bid to purchase the island.

06:14If Denmark wants to get to a conclusion, but nobody knows if they even have any right title

06:20or interest, the people are going to probably vote for independence or to come into the

06:24United States. But if they did, if they did do that, then I would tariff Denmark at a

06:29very high level.

06:32Denmark's prime minister reacted to the new developments, reaffirming Copenhagen's unwavering

06:37position of Greenland not being for sale.

08:35this amazing, not amazing, but this horrible disease, childhood disease in Africa.

08:41So I just feel it's really important to honor him.

08:47The late President's remains were carried into the Capitol by U.S. troops.

08:52His casket, draped in an American flag, was laid down in the center of the Capitol Rotunda.

08:59Members of Congress from both parties and Vice President Kamala Harris gathered around

09:03his casket to pay their respects and eulogize the former President.

09:08Today we gather to begin a final farewell to Jimmy Carter, Navy veteran, peanut farmer,

09:15Governor of Georgia, and President of the United States.

10:05The late President, who died on the 29th of December at the age of 100, will then be flown

10:10back to Plains, Georgia, where he'll be buried in his hometown.

10:18META's Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg announced changes in the company's outlook

10:25He said that in the coming months, META's social media platforms Facebook and Instagram

10:29will gradually work on removing fact-checkers.

11:11Zuckerberg says the company will also simplify its content policies and remove many restrictions

11:16currently in place on topics like immigration and gender.

11:20He added that filters and systems in place which previously limited users' free speech

11:24will be repurposed to create a more inclusive environment.

11:29He has also pledged to work with the incoming Trump administration to fight for freedom

11:33of speech and push back on repression of opinions.
