There's two names that I've actually seen a lot of today from both the Bears, the Jets,
00:06
I guess the Saints probably.
00:07
Well, I've seen Brian Flores in a few spots and I've seen Arthur Smith in a bunch of spots
00:14
and I've seen Joe Brady, Bill's offensive court.
00:18
So those seem to be some of the names.
00:19
Now everyone loves Joe Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator of the Lions.
00:25
He's actually the only guy who's already told the Jets, yeah, don't call me.
00:28
I'm not interested.
00:29
So don't even waste your time.
00:31
He's the only guy who's not going to interview for the Jet job is Ben Johnson.
00:36
But I've seen, I mean, Arthur Smith, I mean, you talk about, as Scotty likes to say, you
00:40
know, recycled bottle water.
00:42
I mean, honestly, Arthur Smith and Flores.
00:47
I've always been interested to see Joe if he'd get another crack after all the lawsuits
00:51
and such a few years ago.
00:55
It's going to be very interesting to see some of these guys.
00:58
I believe, though, that I mean, listen, Ben Johnson has turned down a lot of interviews.
01:03
Probably could have been a head coach if he wanted at this particular point.
01:08
But, you know, the rumor is that he he just he's very happy being the O.C. and, you know,
01:16
not everybody wants to be a head coach.
01:19
And I think we can all understand that not everybody should be a head coach.
01:24
Some guys are just better coordinators.
01:27
But I'll tell you this, guys like Todd Bowles, I mean, Todd Bowles is a different coach than
01:34
he was his first go around with the New York Jets.
01:36
Would we all agree that what he's done in Tampa, you know, he is a guy that has learned
01:41
he has evolved.
01:43
And I'm OK with some of these guys.
01:45
But it's the guys with the fourth and fifth times that it's like, come on, what are we
01:49
are we just interviewing people to interview people at this point?
01:54
It kind of feels that way.
01:55
I'm very surprised to see people wanting to interview Arthur Smith like, like, you know,
02:01
when you're talking about how Bowles changed, you know, Bowles went down to Tampa, spent
02:06
a couple of years with Arians during, you know, when he first got like Arthur Smith
02:11
is one year removed from not doing the greatest job ever in Atlanta.
02:18
I know he didn't have any quarterback at all.
02:20
I get that.
02:21
He had no quarterback.
02:23
And now he's gone here.
02:24
Joe, I mean, what have you I mean, the way the Steelers finished offensively over the
02:29
last four weeks, I mean, if we're going to give him all the credit for how well Russ
02:33
played from when he went in to the to the beginning of December, then does he not get
02:39
any blame for how they played for the last four weeks?
02:42
You would think he should.
02:43
I'm surprised he's getting a crack again this quickly.
02:47
I thought he would need a couple of years before somebody started banging on his door
02:51
again.
02:52
No.
02:53
I mean, you got to be.
02:54
Listen, I think you also have to be very careful because there is now rumors circulating that
03:00
the Titans might be moving on from Brian Callahan, too, because it was clear he was in over his
03:07
head with the Titans this year.
03:09
You know, you want that new who's going to be the new great thing, right?
03:13
The new hot coordinator, the new you know, that would be pretty shocking that these one
03:19
and done's become more and more frequent because nobody is vetting these guys.
03:24
And I don't know what the expectations are.
03:27
Like Brian Callahan, one year in Tennessee, absolute 14 losses.
03:31
Terrible.
03:32
They spent all of this money, but he's going to get another shot.
03:36
But it wasn't good enough for New England, who had absolutely no talent.
03:41
So very strange hiring cycle right now in the NFL.
