00:00There is still a possibility that Volcano Canlaon will be elevated to Alert Level 4.

00:05That's why PHEVOC's advice to residents and the local government is to remain alert and to be vigilant in the activity of the volcano.

00:14Today, there were 5 ash emission events that lasted for 5 to more than 100 minutes in Volcano Canlaon.

00:22There were also 27 volcanic earthquakes that were recorded along with the Shumna Volcanic Tremor

00:28that lasted for 14 to more than 100 minutes.

00:35That it will be raised to Alert Level 4 is always there.

00:38What we are looking for is the increase of volcanic earthquakes,

00:42the elevation of the sulfur dioxide, or the sudden decrease of it.

00:48If it suddenly decreases, it means that it has closed its conduit.

00:55This is more dangerous because it can have an explosive eruption.

01:02Like what happened on December 9.

01:05Prior to December 9, the sulfur dioxide suddenly decreased from around 7,000 to 1,699 tons per day.

01:13This means that the sulfur dioxide will not come out.

01:16It has closed its conduit and because of over-pressurization, that's why it exploded.

01:21This is one of the things we are looking at.

01:23We are also looking at the elevation of the summit of the volcano.

01:31We are also looking at the increase of ash.
