Soldier Shot Self Before Cybertruck Exploded Outside Trump’s Las Vegas Hotel, Officials Say

The highly decorated Army soldier inside a Tesla Cybertruck packed with fireworks that exploded outside Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas shot himself in the head just before detonation, authorities said Thursday.

00:00We also discovered through the coroner's office that the individual had sustained

00:05a gunshot wound to the head prior to the detonation of the vehicle. One of the

00:13handguns was found at his feet inside of the vehicle. Obviously in how we're

00:19trying to identify him and I'm feeling comfortable to give you this information

00:22is a tremendous amount of substantial evidence to include he rented the Turo

00:28vehicle. There are two tattoos one of which was on the stomach and one of

00:34which is on the arm that we can see bits and pieces of it as in comparison to

00:38what it is that we now know he had on his body that has given us a lot of

00:44confidence that this is in fact the same person. So through extensive

00:51surveillance video we were able to track him leaving there and we know that he

00:54went to several different places along Las Vegas Boulevard and he spent some

01:00time in a parking lot of a business near Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard. We

01:05didn't have a video of the truck pulling back onto Las Vegas Boulevard from the

01:10Sands. See that there goes that's north on the Boulevard from Sands at 839 where

01:25he then immediately heads to the Trump Hotel pulls into the valet area and as

01:30of course you all know the explosion occurs within 17 seconds of his arrival

01:35at the valet. It's not lost on us that it's in front of you know of the

01:40Trump building that it's a Tesla vehicle but we don't have information at

01:45this point that definitively tells us or suggests it was because of this

01:48particular ideology or that you know any of the reasoning behind it. That's the

01:52purpose of the investigation that we're conducting is to get to the bottom of

01:55exactly what happened why and how. Other than the windows being gone that that's

02:00a bit more disassembled than it was at the scene and the back area being blown

02:06off. There's no evidence of physical damage to the sides of that vehicle and

02:10so the explosion that was in that vehicle sort of vented out and up but it

02:17didn't even damage the glass doors at the Trump. The level of sophistication is

02:20not what we would expect from from an individual with this type of military

02:25experience. That most of that the materials inside that Tesla were fuel to

02:32to help fuel a greater explosion. But it's too early to answer any

02:38question as if there was sophisticated connectivity to those

02:44components to to make it ignite in the way that it did. But I would like to

02:48highlight a couple of things that the teams found inside of the Cybertruck

02:51that are useful to the investigation and that first and foremost is a military

02:56identification. We also found a passport. We found a Desert Eagle 50 caliber

03:04semi-automatic pistol.
