00:19Even though their homes are far away, the evacuees are still happy to celebrate Christmas and New Year in Manuel Torres Sports Center, Baguio City.
00:29This is because of the assistance they received from the government,
00:33which brought them wealth and happiness, instead of their families.
00:38According to Benvenido Oplas, 43 years old from Purok Talong, Ilihan, Baguio City,
00:43despite his feelings of Christmas and New Year in the evacuation center,
00:47he will choose to stay here to ensure the safety of his loved ones in life
00:52in the midst of the ongoing and subsequent eruption of the volcano.
00:57It's good that social workers, barangay health workers, evacuation camp personnel,
01:03police and other government officials are here to assist in the evacuation center.
01:09We are grateful for the people who helped us.
01:13The city government, DSWD, CSWD, BHW, police,
01:21all of them are here for our safety, for the sacrifices we made for Christmas,
01:26for the sacrifices we made for New Year.
