00:00The Department of Health headed to several hospitals in Manila.

00:04Aside from the cases of firecracker-related injuries and road traffic injuries,

00:10communicable and non-communicable diseases are also being targeted this holiday season.

00:19Yes, Angelica. As part of the Ligtas Christmas in the new Philippines Hospital Preparedness Rounds,

00:25the Department of Health is in the center of the news with Secretary Ted Herbosa,

00:29in the Philippine General Hospital, Manila Doctors' Hospital and Tontitical Center.

00:33According to the Philippine General Hospital, as of January 2, 2025,

00:37there were 17 victims of the firecracker.

00:39Fifteen of them were male and two of them were female.

00:43Seven of them were children and ten of them were adults.

00:46Most of them were shot and exploded.

00:49Most of them were shot in the eye.

00:51Most of them were shot in the eye.

00:56This is higher than the 13 cases recorded in 2023.

01:01The number of road traffic injuries in the hospital in 2024 is higher than in 2023.

01:08The hospital is also monitoring communicable and non-communicable diseases this holiday season.

01:13The number of bronchial asthma cases in the hospital in 2024 is higher than in 2023.

01:19The number of acute coronary syndrome cases in the hospital in 2024 is lower than in 2023.

01:28The Manila Doctors' Hospital recorded one firework-related injury in the new year.

01:34The hospital recorded more than 20 road traffic injuries in the past year than in 2023.

01:41The hospital is also monitoring communicable and non-communicable diseases.

01:45This includes acute coronary syndrome, hypertension, cerebrovascular diseases,

01:50bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.

01:53The government should continue to remind the public to take care of their health.

01:59Motorists should be careful and be alert while driving to avoid accidents.
