00:00PKRU's chief, Adam Adly, has demanded that his UMNO counterpart, Dr. Akmal Saleh, retract

00:08his remarks questioning whether the Federal Territories Pardons Board approved Anwar Ibrahim's

00:13royal pardon in 2018.

00:17In a statement, Adam said Akmal should fact-check his remarks on Google before making them.

00:23Adam said the pardon granted to Anwar went through the proper process in accordance with

00:29Article 42 of the Federal Constitution.

00:33He warned that if Akmal is not careful, his statements could be seen as disrespectful

00:37toward the monarchy and the nation's supreme law.

00:42Anwar received a full royal pardon days after Pakatan Harapan won the 2018 general election

00:48and was freed after serving three years in prison.

00:52He later said that the royal pardon was granted by the then Yang Tipetuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad

00:58V.

01:00Yesterday, Akmal said he would like to ask the Attorney General if Anwar's pardon by

01:05the then Yang Tipetuan Agong was brought to the Pardons Board.
