The Hohkönigsburg is a castle near Orschwiller in Alsace, reconstructed at the beginning of the 20th century, about 10 km west of Sélestat.   We learn that the castle actually has two stories:  one during the Middle Ages and a second that begins again at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century.

01:46The name Königsberg does not appear until 1192.

01:50The castle was destroyed in 1462.

02:08From then on, Hockenhegsburg Castle flourished until it was captured and destroyed by the

02:13Swedes during the Thirty Years' War after almost two months of siege in 1633.

02:25The castle owes its present existence to the German Emperor Wilhelm II, who had it restored

02:30at the beginning of the 20th century.

02:32Situated at an altitude of almost 757 meters in the Vosges Mountains, this castle is one
