As crime rates fluctuate and community concerns rise, residents of Lancashire are questioning whether there are enough community police officers in their area.

00:00Hello, my name is Megan Bainbridge and I'm a reporter for the Lancashire Evening Post and the Blackpool Gazette.

00:05Today I went out into Lancashire to ask the people what they thought on the amount of community police officers there are across Lancashire.

00:10Here is what they said.

00:12Megan, how are these people coping?

00:14I think they patrol enough, but I don't think enough crimes get reported.

00:20Most of the time it's stuff like teenagers messing about, and the police tend to arrive too late to do anything, or the kids just don't care.

00:29Who do you find interesting?

00:31To be fair, I don't really see them around campus more than anywhere else.

00:35It could keep people safer.

00:37Clock and timer.

00:39A little bit, but I know security is covered by campus security, and they tend to be better at making the situation.

00:45I'm Todd, originally from Reading, back downtown.

00:49I haven't really noticed much of a police presence in the last couple of years.

00:55But I do see them around, but not doing enough.
