00:00Help is being called from the National Government, the LGU of Canlaon City which is in a state of calamity since June 3.

00:08More than 5,000 individuals have been evacuated to the evacuation centers of the city.

00:15This is Jessie Atienza of PTV Cebu with the national news.

00:19Last 4 days ago, the volcano Canlaon erupted again.

00:31That is why the disaster team of the LGU of Canlaon City, along with the DSWD, are continuously on alert.

00:38According to the last report of the LGU, more than 5,000 individuals have been evacuated to the 8 evacuation centers.

00:46Another evacuation center is being prepared while the volcano continues to erupt.

00:53Although the help and donations from NGOs, private organizations, and several LGUs continue to arrive,

01:01the mayor of Canlaon City, Jose Chubasco Cardenas, is calling for help from the National Government

01:08because the LGU cannot continue to support internally displaced persons who are in their care.

01:17Really, I am calling the National Government to please help us in order for us to hold and sustain these evacuees.

01:28We can only hold these evacuees if we can sustain their needs such as food, non-food items, so it is really important.

01:37According to Cardenas, it started on June 3 of this year.

01:41When the volcano erupted for the first time, the city was already in a state of calamity.

01:46That is why the LGU's funds are running out.
