Bennett chats with Danny on the Haunted Mansion Parlor aboard the Disney Treasure

00:00Hey, it's Bennett from The New 96.5. I just hopped aboard the brand new Disney Treasure,

00:05and of course, my first stop had to be the Haunted Mansion Parlor. My eyes are so wide

00:10taking in all the beautiful scenery here. I have Danny here, who is the mastermind behind this.

00:15Nice to meet you.

00:16Nice to meet you, too.

00:16My gosh, this is really, really cool. I feel like I'm in a scene of a haunted movie. I feel

00:21like a set of a movie. This is very, very cool.

00:23Yeah, we wanted to recreate the attraction experience from Disneyland and Walt Disney

00:27World. It's a seven-minute ride through. Try to stretch it out to this 45-minute bar

00:31and lounge experience. When you're in here, you'll hear ghosts materialize. You'll see

00:35them materialize in really cool ways. Depending on where you sit, you might hear or see something

00:39different.

00:39That's wild. So how did you come up with all these finer details? Are these part of

00:44something you've always fantasized about? Put this together in one room for this one experience?

00:49Yeah. When we decided to put Haunted Mansion on the Disney Treasure, we wanted it to feel

00:54authentic to the attraction. So the purple wallpaper, all the little eyes. If you look

00:59in the carpet here, there's eyes that look back at you and the walls and the sconces.

01:02Everywhere there's eyes staring at you, which is that creepy Haunted Mansion feel. But then

01:06we wanted to give it a nautical twist, too, because we're on a cruise ship.

01:09Sure.

01:10So we wanted to celebrate that.

01:11Yeah. I feel like Disney is all about the details and you did not miss a beat with the

01:16wallpaper, the carpets, everything about this place is super, super cool. Do you have a

01:21favorite, like a highlight that you were like, yeah, this is a Danny touch?

01:24Oh, one of my favorites is the Ghost Fish Aquarium over here. So this is a design that

01:30our legendary Imagineer, Raleigh Crump, designed in the 1960s. He sketched it out,

01:35never saw the light of day until we went through the archives and found it. And then we got to

01:39materialize it as a brand new special effect exclusive to the parlor. And so wherever you

01:43sit in here, you'll see ghost fish materialize. They'll rise out of their little tombstones.

01:47That is wild.

01:49Yeah. My eyes went right to it. Once I walked in, I was like, that is really something special.

01:53Big centerpiece.

01:53Tell me about the drinks that you can have in the Haunted Mansion Parlor. I imagine that they're

01:57pretty, like they're themed out, right?

01:58Absolutely. Yeah. They're all inspired by the attraction. And so one of my favorites,

02:03it's called the Chilling Challenge. And it comes in this box. You open the box,

02:07there's smoke that billows out and there's a hidden message written in the foam itself.

02:12And so there's just some really fun attention to detail, some great collectible mugs,

02:16if you like to, you know, collect those kind of tiki mugs and things.

02:19It's themed to some of the ghosts that you'll meet in our show experience.

02:22So the kids are going to the kids club and the parents are going to play here

02:24in the Haunted Mansion Parlor.

02:26Absolutely.

02:27That's right. That's right.

02:28I'm like peeking behind us too. We've got the fireplace and tell me about this clock too.

02:32It's a 13 hour clock, like you see in the attraction and,

02:36oh, you know what that means? That means the spirits have arrived and here they are.

02:40Oh my gosh. Ian, my favorite human being. Thank you.

02:43He's been dying to meet you this whole time. You know, they're all dying.

02:50What does that mean?

02:51You better take a sip and enjoy the swinging wake because the ghost is about to materialize.
