Rains to persist in Northern and Central Luzon, Southern Mindanao

00:00At the moment, we are still not being watched by LPA or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility

00:08even though we can still expect the rainy season in some parts of our country

00:13due to the weather systems that will continue to affect our region.

00:18The first effect of the Northeast Monsoon is still felt here in the area of Northern Luzon

00:23and it will continue to affect the cloudy skies and the weak rains in the eastern section of the Northern Luzon area.

00:31Meanwhile, in Badang, Mindanao, we can still see some clouds that are affecting the southern portion of Mindanao.

00:38That is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ that is slowly shifting or adjusting downwards.

00:45Those clouds are mostly only affecting the southern part of Mindanao as well as Palawan.

00:52So, it will still be rainy in some parts of Mindanao today.

00:56In more than ten parts of our country, we can still see some clouds here in some parts of Southern Luzon

01:03although we can see that those clouds are getting thinner.

01:07So, we can still expect or it is still possible that there will be scattered rains,

01:11landslides and landslides in some parts or some provinces in Southern Luzon

01:15due to the effect of the easterlies or the hot winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.

01:22In most parts of our country, in Visayas, in most parts of Mindanao, in Palawan

01:28and the rest of Luzon area, the weather will be clear except for the landslides or sudden rains.

01:37And for the next few days, we expect that generally fair weather conditions will continue this coming Saturday

01:44in most parts of our country.

01:46But the effect of the easterlies will gradually intensify this coming weekend.

01:52And due to the intensification of the effect of the easterlies,

01:56the effect of the shear line or the collision of cold and hot winds will return.

02:02So, it is possible that by Saturday evening or in the coming Sunday,

02:06the shear line of the rains in some parts of Quezon and Bicol Region will collapse again.

02:14It is possible that it will happen this coming weekend or in the middle of the weekend.

02:18And it is also possible that it will affect some provinces.

02:22Meanwhile, for this coming weekend, at least, we have not seen or expected LPA or typhoons

02:29that could possibly affect any part of our country.

02:33So, besides the strong winds, it is also possible that the rains in northern Luzon

02:39and the shear line that could possibly affect the southern part of Luzon

02:44will still cause clear or generally fair weather conditions in most parts of our country

02:50except for the landslides or sudden rains due to isolated thunderstorms.

02:58As for the weather conditions here in Luzon, due to the continuous effect of the cold winds,

03:05it will still be cloudy in some parts of Cagayan Valley

03:09as well as in some portions of Cordillera Administrative Region,

03:13such as Apayau, Ifugao, as well as in Mountain Province and Calinga.

03:18The rains that we are expecting here are mostly light rains.

03:24Here in the eastern sections of southern Luzon, there is Quezon and Bicol Region.

03:29It is still possible that there will be scattered rains,

03:32but we do not expect that it will be as strong as the last days due to the effect of the shear line.

03:40So, the rains in Quezon and Bicol Region will have an easterly effect today.

03:47And in the northern part of Luzon, for Ilocos Region, there is Abra, as well as in Benguet,

03:53in a large part of Central Luzon.

03:55The weather will also be clear.

03:57There is a possibility that there will be light rains or just quick storms.

04:02And for areas of Metro Manila, in a large part of Calabar Zone, as well as portions of Mimaropa,

04:09it is possible that there will be localized thunderstorms.

04:14So, these are the sudden or sudden rains that we are more likely to experience in the afternoon and evening.

04:20This is just a monitoring of the thunderstorm advisory issued by our Regional Services Division.

04:26For the temperature forecast for the surrounding cities in Luzon,

04:32in Tuguegarao, the average temperature will range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.

04:41Maximum temperatures are expected today in Lawag.

04:44And for Aguat, the temperature in Baguio will range from 17 to 25 degrees Celsius.

04:50In Metro Manila, the maximum temperatures are expected to reach 31 degrees Celsius.

04:55For Tagaytay, it will range from 22 to 29 degrees Celsius.

04:59And 32 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature today in Legazpi.

05:06So, there will be a change in the time in the areas of our country.

05:10As we mentioned earlier, the Intertropical Convergence Zone, its axis, shifted downwards.

05:16So, it is only here in the southern part of Mindanao that the ITCZ is affected.

05:22So, it is still possible that there will be scattered floods, landslides and landslides.

05:26So, there are parts of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

05:29And there is a high possibility of isolated or sudden rainfall in the southern portions of Mindanao.

05:38And for the rest of Palawan, Visayas, especially in the Mindanao area,

05:42the weather will be clear today.

05:44So, it is hot, especially in the afternoon.

05:47And there are only possibilities of isolated thunderstorms when it comes, or more often in the afternoon or at night.

05:54Temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Palawan and Visayas,

05:59the maximum temperatures in Kalayaan Islands will reach 31 degrees Celsius.

06:03And 32 degrees Celsius for Puerto Princesa.

06:08For Ilo-Ilo, our maximum temperatures will reach 31 degrees Celsius,

06:1326 to 30 degrees Celsius is the expected temperature today here in Cebu.

06:19And the maximum temperatures for Tacloban will reach 32 degrees Celsius.

06:25For the temperatures in neighboring cities here in Mindanao,

06:29for Zamboanga, the maximum temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius.

06:33For Cagayan de Oro, it is 25 to 30 degrees Celsius.

06:36And for Metro Davao, the expected temperature will be 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.

06:43As for the situation of our seas, we still do not have a gale warning in any coastal areas of our country.

06:51However, we are still being careful with the plans to expand to the coastal areas of the Northern Luzon

06:56because it is still possible for storms to reach the sea.
