00:00See, Raj Kapoor has really been an institution and film industry's actors, filmmakers, all

00:14are inspired by him, his music, his film making.

00:18And I think the status he has achieved in the industry is not just in one film, his

00:24innumerable films.

00:25I mean, which filmmaker has that kind of canvas of work?

00:35Not only as an actor, but as a director, then as a person who's given us music, which will

00:41be immortal and remembered forever.

00:44My personal experience with him, I did Beevi O Beevi film with him, it was his production,

00:50he didn't direct it.

00:51Unfortunately, I didn't work in his direction.

00:54But I had the opportunity to meet him many a times.

00:57And I was obviously awed by him because his persona was like that.

01:02But he was so, you know, warm, so comfortable, he used to sit, his room was like a mattress.

01:11And he would make sure that you're eating properly or looked after properly.

01:17And his, I think, whole unit had that hospitality, the Kapoors had that hospitality.

01:25And I think they continue it till date.

01:27The Kapoor hospitality is famous.

01:29Rajji, and I'm sure his father before him, must have taught that because hospitality

01:35is a very warm thing.

01:41Well, as a filmmaker, I think his main contribution was the way he used to get actors to act.

01:48Jo unhone hai har actor se kaam nikal vaya hai.

01:51Padmini ji hai as a child actor in Satyam Shivam, and then in Prem Rog, then Dimple

01:58ji in Bobby, Rishi Kapoor, my all time favourite actor, always I've seen his acting.

02:04I'm sure he was influenced by his father more than anything else, but itni natural acting.

02:10And I think Rajji se yeh, maine suna bhi hai Rishi ji ko bolte hue, ki aap sad gaana

02:14bhi gaa rahe hain, toh dukhi face ke saath nahi gaa rahe hain.

02:17Aap smile karke sad gaana gaate hain.

02:19That, I think he was the first actor who started doing that.

02:23Ki mostly toh roh ke aasu baha ke sad gaana gaate the, but Rajji used to smile and sing

02:28a sad song, you know, which was more poignant.

02:31Impact toh aaj hai hi, but agar kuch saal aur rehte, toh I'm sure aur bhi impact rehta.

02:43But his impact is indelible.

02:45Wo toh hamesha hi rahega.

02:47But jaise maine kaha unki age wasn't important.

02:51His thought was ever young, ever with the times.

02:55So, I think, I wish he had been around for longer.

03:00Aamein aur achi cinema milti di dekhne ko, aur acha music milta tha dekhne ko.

03:09See, basically inspiration hamesha ek thought se hi aati hai.
