00:04till eternity, Raj Kapoor will remain this name.

00:08Till the time there is an industry, Raj Kapoor's name will remain.

00:11And I consider myself very fortunate that I did two films with him.

00:18Satyam Shivam Sundaram and Prem Rao.

00:21So as a child artist, I learnt a lot from him.

00:24As a heroine, I learnt a lot.

00:26So whatever I am today, is because of Raj Uncle.

00:29The filmmakers had a different style.

00:33I can't even describe it.

00:38If I had ever directed in my life,

00:42then I would have kept Raj Kapoor in my mind and made films.

00:48I used to see new things and he used to make films way ahead of his time.

00:55But unfortunately, the audience couldn't digest it.

01:00They couldn't accept it.

01:02If you look at it today, the films that were ahead of their time,

01:07have become cult films or iconic films.

01:11We want to get some support from the Kapoor family.

01:18But they themselves are busy with other things.

01:21A lot of people are doing something or the other.

01:23But we have their support.

01:26And we thought that Poonam ji and I,

01:29because Poonam ji worked under the RK banner of BVOBV.

01:33I worked with her as a director.

01:38So definitely we felt that since Poonam ji has become the president,

01:43I am the senior vice president.

01:44So we thought that we should do this first event in the name of Raj Uncle.
