00:16At this point, my fellow countrymen, let us talk about the latest updates on the programs of the Marcos Jr. Administration.

00:26First of all, our President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered the Department of Budget and Management or DBM
00:34and the Department of Education or DepEd to provide a higher Service Recognition Incentive or SRI to public teachers.
00:48The SRI is a yearly financial incentive provided to government employees as recognition of their commitment and dedication to the quality and speedy improvement of the public service.
01:02According to the Presidential Communications Office, the government's goal is to increase the SRI to more than 1 million DepEd personnel from the current P18,000 to P20,000.
01:16Mr. Marcos Jr. has ordered the two Departments to explore the budgetary measures to guarantee an increase in the SRI for DepEd personnel
01:30and to be able to implement while maintaining the responsibilities in the near future.
01:37Education Secretary Sonny Angara thanked Mr. Marcos Jr. for his directive which he described as a moral booster for teachers.
01:48Meanwhile, Teachers Dignity Coalition or TDC has ordered the President of the Department of Budget and Management and DepEd to help increase the SRI of public school teachers.
02:03According to TDC National Chairperson Ben Jovasas, the increase in the salary of teachers will help to improve the quality of the teaching profession.
02:15TDC hopes that aside from the directive, the salary increase for teachers and education workers will also be implemented.
