Luigi Mangione has officially been charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson ... TMZ has confirmed.

00:00We now are learning so much more about Luigi Mangione, who is now the suspect.

00:05He has been charged in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

00:11You know, we told you yesterday that he was apprehended at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania,

00:17and they initially only charged him with some weapons, because he had a gun on him, some

00:22weapons charges there in Pennsylvania.

00:24He has now been charged by the Manhattan D.A. in Brian Thompson's murder, and he went

00:30into part of the process of getting him to New York City.

00:33There has to be an extradition hearing.

00:36The police have released his mugshot, but we are now hearing him for the first time,

00:42and this shows a little window into his ideology, perhaps, but on his way into his extradition

00:50hearing this morning, he shouted out to reporters and photographers who were outside the jail,
