00:00Since the initial reports last year, local authorities have responded with various initiatives

00:09aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour and improving Slide Road's general upkeep, but

00:15concerns remain among those who spend their days here.

00:20The main problem is the parking on Slide Road, which can be ridiculous at times. Sometimes

00:26the must cause for all the cars parked for them to come and play and everything. There's

00:30just no room anywhere. Prostitution's another one that comes along. I mean there's all sorts

00:35of things that happen down here, but it's just a general road like, I suppose a lot

00:39of Birmingham now. But I mean, eventually when we manage to sort it, I think the main

00:43thing is the car situation on the roads. Nothing can move once it's all, you know, fouled up

00:49with all cars parked and everything. And it just brings the city to a standstill. So it's

00:54trying to get negotiated with everybody, deliveries, everything, or just anybody driving

00:58sort of thing.

01:00From those encountered along Slide Road, the leading concern centres on ongoing fly-tipping.

01:06One particular alleyway, previously secured by a gate, now stands exposed following its

01:12removal. Without this barrier, discarded furniture, old clothing and other debris have piled high.

01:20The route, once convenient for local users, is now difficult to navigate, with some items

01:25blocking movement and raising fears about potential fire hazards. Local shopkeepers

01:32have noted that attempts at clearing the area appear short-lived. This persistent build-up

01:38of waste raises further worries over health and safety, fueling disquiet among those who

01:44need access to the passage. As the focus shifts towards more effective, preventive measures,

01:51the outlook for this stretch of Slide Road remains uncertain before the next stage of

01:56responses is seen.
