01:11water, and face masks following the eruption of Canlaon volcano on December 9.

01:16Krislyn Ewag, a 32-year-old mother of three from City Odeon in Barangay Camandag, says,

01:22If we were to be asked, we really want to go back to our homes.''

01:25Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. says that La Castellana in Negros Occidental and

01:30Canlaon City in Negros Oriental were the towns most affected by the eruption.

01:35As of Tuesday, records from La Castellana's Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

01:39Office show that a total of 2,715 families or 8,799 individuals from eight villages are

01:46affected by ashfall.

01:48La Castellana Mayor Almerumila Nicor Mangilimutan says the lack of tents is being addressed.

01:53She notes there's plenty of drinking water.

01:56Health Undersecretary Merian Palermo says 8,095 face masks will arrive in Negros any

02:10into her alleged death threats against the first couple and the House Speaker, scheduled

02:15Wednesday, December 11.

02:17The NBI is investigating Duterte over verbal threats she made against the President, First

02:22Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and Speaker Martin Romualdez during a midnight press briefing

02:26on November 23.

02:28Duterte says her lawyers explained her appearance before the NBI is not necessary and the submission

02:33of an affidavit or position paper will suffice.

02:36She also says she has a scheduled event with reporters and other engagements on the same

02:40day.

02:41Duterte was initially summoned to appear before the NBI on November 29.

02:45She supposedly learned too late that the House probe into her alleged fund misuse that morning

02:49had been rescheduled.

02:51The House Committee on Good Government postponed its probe to give way to the NBI probe.

02:58President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. signs a law allowing the Agriculture Department to declare

03:01a food security emergency when a rice supply shortage or extraordinary increase in prices

03:06happens.

03:08The law also allows the DA to sell rice buffer stocks in areas hit by these crises and import

03:13rice when locally produced rice is not enough.

03:17It also extends the implementation of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund or RCEF

03:21up to 2031 and increases annual allocation from 10 billion pesos to 30 billion pesos.

03:27The fund is created to support seed and mechanization programs for farmers and, in the process,

03:32reduce prices and post-harvest losses.

03:34With these new responsibilities, the DA is seen to have, quote, stricter oversight of

03:39the rice industry.

03:43Lewis Hamilton raced one last time for Mercedes on Sunday, December 8, before moving to drive

03:48for Ferrari next season.
