00:00This was the scene early Wednesday morning in Dubai.

00:09Large black plumes of smoke billowing up into the sky after a massive explosion rocked the

00:15Alcoz industrial area.

00:17Terrified residents were woken up by the blast at around 7 o'clock, which rattled windows

00:22and blackened the morning sky.

00:25One shocked witness nearby thought the bomb had exploded.

00:29Police said at least four warehouses were destroyed in the explosion and resulting fire.

00:34The blast could be seen as far away as Sharjah and the air was thick with heavy fumes covering

00:39nearby Satwa.

00:41Traffic snarled along nearby roads as shocked drivers saw the explosion, an unexpected scene

00:47on their morning commute.

00:49Rescue teams arrived on the scene and brought the flames under control about two hours later.

00:55Some schools have already been closed because of the poor air quality.

00:58Now residents will be wondering what to expect in the aftermath of the blast.
