Bengals defense scouting report: It's Trey Hendrickson & not a lot else

The Bengals have the NFL's leading sack artist in DE Trey Hendrickson, but other than that, their defense has been very poor in 2024. Check out Bryan Broaddus' scouting report on Cincinnati's defense in the video above.

00:00All right this is the report on the the Bengals defense and it's been a little

00:23bit of a struggle for them this season especially with what they've had to deal

00:28with some of the stuff of teams throwing the football on them though it's been a

00:34bit of a problem they do not get there they have one guy they have one guy that

00:40gets pressure and that's Trey Hendrickson the Trey Hendrickson can also

00:45wreck your game by the way he plays he's gonna primary lineup on your left side

00:51so this is a this is going to be a Chuma Doga game with Trey Hendrickson over

00:56there playing on that side now this team is like I mentioned they're they're

01:01they're very poor with pressure and they're very very poor in sacks and but

01:06Hendrickson's got double-digit he had four of them against the Raiders and I

01:11could say it was they they had no answer for him that day but this is where the

01:16Cowboys are gonna have to live and they're gonna have to try and figure it

01:20out now I'll say something about though this this Bengals defense because if you

01:28don't want to have to deal with Hendrickson you might want to try and

01:32run the football against these guys I love it and I I say I say this in a way

01:38though this is a team that doesn't give up a lot of explosive runs but they do

01:45give up first downs running and they do give up a lot of yards after contact

01:51when you watch them play and they don't they're not gonna have Logan Wilson in

01:55this game and he's out for the season he's their best linebacker when it comes

01:59to making plays at or near the line of scrimmage so with no Logan Wilson in this

02:04game we'll see how that the the Bengals try and manage this but they've been it

02:11it's it's it's a struggle for them now there's you don't giving you something

02:17more at left tackle then then Guyton was is he better in the run or is there

02:24anything positive you could say that would give us optimism that him verse

02:27Hendrickson I think to me the thing with Hendrickson that like when I watched

02:33Hendrickson play this is a really he has a really good understanding of how to

02:40rush the passer so maybe this is where it would be different for you know for

02:46Guyton to have to deal with because Hendrickson is not going to allow you to

02:50push him past the quarterback he rushes at the level of the quarterback so like

02:57there's sometimes you get these edge rushers they go flying up the field yeah

03:01and the and the and the lineman is able just to kind of wheel on him and then

03:05push him by and then the quarterback steps up and makes the throw if a doga

03:11wheels on Hendrickson and pushes him he's gonna push him right into Cooper
