UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot outside Manhattan hotel

The CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson, was fatally shot in the chest on Dec. 4, 2024 morning outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown, the New York Post reported, citing police sources. UnitedHealthcare's parent company, UnitedHealth, did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. The company was hosting its investor day when the shooting happened.
