The scale of the destruction is staggering, with more than 7,000 vehicles destroyed, and the total damage exceeding 2 billion shekels (over $550 million). Metulla’s mayor, David Azoulay, described the situation as dire, emphasizing the uncertainty of the settlement’s future and the necessity of demolishing homes in severely impacted areas.
